OSI Optoelectronics was formed in 2006 as a result of consolidation of several subsidiaries under the same brand name, serving the same customers and applications. The goal was to enhance our focus on the core business and utilize all resources within the companies to provide the best possible products.
UDT Sensors
Founded in 1967, UDT Sensors is one the largest manufacturers of standard and custom photo-detectors, photodiodes and optical sensors in United States. UDT Sensors delivered engineering support and manufacturing capabilities that included but were not limited to Commercial and Military, Standard, X-ray, UV, Visible, NIR photo-sensors, as well as thin/thick film ceramic hybrid modules.
Centro Vision
The Company was spun off by Centronics Ltd in the mid 80’s. Since then it has become one of the dominant players in the silicon photodiode industry producing UV, Visible and Near IR detectors. OSI Systems, Inc acquired the company in 2002.
OSI Fibercomm
Established by OSI Systems Inc. in 1998, OSI Fibercomm offered innovative and leading-edge optical transmission solutions in the form of photo-detectors and subsystems for optical network applications relating to high-speed data and voice trasmission. The company also provided custom fiber-optic subsystem designs and manufacturing services to a wide base of industry clients.
AME
A/S Akers Electronics, the first microelectronic company in Scandinavia, was founded in 1967 with the aim to develop and produce microelectronics. AME A/S is one of the leading suppliers of high quality, custom designed, advanced micro electronics.
Laser Diode
The company was founded in 1967 as a premier manufacturer of solid state lasers. LDI became the leader in laser diode technology and collaborated on many of the laser based military programs which are still in use today.
In 2000 LDI was purchased by TYCO industries. The demand for high energy, high reliability lasers for telecommunications applications made LDI a synergistic acquisition which enhanced TYCO dominance in the fiber optic space during this time.
OSI Systems purchased LDI in 2011. OSI Systems’ vertical integration required a source manufacturer with vision, technology, and the expertise which would supplement its ability to become one of the premier Opto Assemblies companies in the world.
