Large volume cartilage loss is complex and difficult to reconstruct. Current solutions include auto/allografts, chondrocyte transplants, prosthetics and molds. High morbidity, high cost and lack of integration are common outcomes.
Luna is developing an injectable, biocompatible, biodegradable and bioactive construct that will provide active cartilage regeneration. The scaffold remains stable under physiologic conditions with an open porous structure and appropriate mechanical properties.
